About Us

My passion for hot dogs ignited long ago, back in the early '80s, in an unexpected place right here in Totowa, NJ. It all began at Channel Lumber, located on Route 46, where a hot dog vendor had set up shop right by the checkout registers. I vividly remember the awe I felt seeing that hot dog cart for the first time. Naturally, I turned to my father and asked for a hot dog, and that moment sparked a lifelong love affair with this iconic food!

From then on, every trip to Channel Lumber became a cherished tradition, centered around that delicious hot dog. My passion only grew as I ventured out to try every hot dog stand and restaurant across the tri-state area, sampling hundreds of hot dogs, each prepared in their own unique style. 

Food has always been at the heart of my journey. For over a decade, I honed my skills and deepened my appreciation for culinary arts working in our family-run deli and catering business in West Paterson. I eventually took my passion to new heights by opening my own private chef and catering business at www.PettyEats.com. Furthermore, I  have also served as the managing partner and Executive Chef for a Caribbean restaurant.

Now, I’ve come full circle back to where it all began—Totowa, NJ. With The Dawg House, I am excited to merge my lifelong love of hot dogs with my extensive experience in the food service industry. Join me as we celebrate the essence of this beloved classic, creating unforgettable experiences one delicious hot dog at a time!
